Russian archeologists found

One of the most remarkable and long-known monuments in the territory of Nakhodka is a settlement on the hill Scoltock. This settlement was discovered long ago, back in 1960-m to year, however, his study still no one did. The monument is located at the entrance to the city on the hill “Soldotna” about 25 meters in height, with steep slopes and a flat top. The slopes of the hills on its Northern, more gentle side, cut terrace-like platforms, made by cutting into the slope of one side of the terrace. All terraces counted about 10.

On the slopes and the top of the hill can be traced the numerous traces of unauthorized excavations, produced by local students – all terraces of the settlement violated pits and trenches. In the course of exploration in 2000 were also collected rich material of ceramic and stone tools: polished arrowheads, fragment of retouched obsidian tip, half a polished stone knife, stone hammers, flakes and chips, provincializing spindles, many fragments of pottery with ornamentation. The collected material has allowed to allocate in the settlement the presence of three layers: Neolithic (zaisanovka archaeological culture); early iron age (ansca archaeological culture); early middle ages (Mohe).

Another archaeological monument is a rock Bakhirev, which is located on a small rocky promontory jutting out into the sea from the main massif of Cape Astafeva. With the mainland Bakhirev Rock connected by a narrow isthmus of shingle embankment

The settlement was discovered during a campaign – intelligence in February 2003. The surface of the earth was covered with snow, but in some areas the snow has melted or been blown away by the wind, which helped to gather a small collection of lifting material. Was raised a few flakes, ceramic fragments and a small fragment of stone tools – most likely a small suspension bits or Tesla. Findings gave reason to pre-date the settlement of the early iron age. It was also observed that the inclined surface of the Cape sometimes cut small terraced fields. Stripping allowed us to collect a lot of fragments, trapped pieces of moulded ceramic vessel cupping form. Pottery of this form and constructed and ornamented like the vessel, was characteristic of Neolithic cultures of Primorye or to Mohe culture of the early middle ages. To date the settlement more specifically without excavation it is not yet possible. It is also possible and multi-layered character of the settlement – some found objects (a fragment of a polished “tesella” with a hole) is more characteristic of the early iron age.

For the guests opened the Bay Lashkevich, which is located in the Gulf of Nakhodka, on the territory of Nakhodka, near the mouth of the river Guerrilla, at the foot of the hills Sister. On the shore of the Bay, scientists discovered a number of places as a result of construction activities or due to natural causes (erosion, blowing), revealed traces of the settlement of the coast of the Bay. The most interesting settlement is marked on the flat top of a promontory located in the middle of the coast of the Bay of Lashkevich. The top of the Cape is fairly flat, whereas the slopes drop into the sea in steep cliffs. The settlement consists of more than 20 large terraced platforms cut into the slope of the Cape, and depressions on a gentle crest of the Cape. Currently, the monument on the Cape is in a relatively good condition. In addition to the settlement on a promontory on the coast of the Bay of Lashkevich were seen the remains of several settlements from different epochs of neolith, early iron age, mohasco culture. However, the majority of these settlements destroyed economic activity – the construction of recreation facilities, Parking lots and roads.
